New Job!

Jess was offered a job as a mechanical engineering intern at Utah Kennecott Copper Mine. We are so excited for this exciting opportunity! It all happened really fast, now we are busy finding housing and a job for me :) Jess heard about this internship from a friend, he had an interview friday and they called him up Monday. Let's just say they were very impressed! Of course though, who wouldn't be :) Anyway, congrats Jess!

  1. Yipee! I've been thinking about you guys and wondering how this went. Of course they loved Jess. Good to know that they weren't totally crazy and actually hired him. Now you get to have your first (of many, I'm sure) short-term moves and our sweet Hayley gets to find some random job (again, first of many, I'm sure) and learn to live in a new place for a while. Welcome to the fun world of moving all the time. I'm so happy for you guys!

  3. That's so awesome!! I think internships are so great--you get to see how the business works, but they also are a little easier on you because you are an "intern". Then you get to use them as a job reference! Congratulations, you guys. How long is the internship?

  4. The internship is only for the summer, but Jess may be able to go back the following year.

  5. I was really hoping for the AmSafe one, but we're notorious for putting things off. I'd better get to ride one of those huge trucks down into the mine.

  6. This sounds great. Now there'll be an engineer with actual engineering experience in our family.
